CHIANTI
Set up on Google Maps:
1 CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI
It's the furthest village on the Chianti circuit, an ideal starting point for the tour. Just outside the village, you'll usually find a Cecchini Panini Truck van, owned by a famous butcher shop in Castellina.
2 GREVE IN CHIANTI
It is the best-known village in Chianti, worth a visit on foot. In the main square you will find the “Macelleria Falorni”, probably the most famous in Tuscany, with excellent cured meats.
3 RADDA IN CHIANTI - GAIOLE IN CHIANTI
4 MELETO CASTLE
Near Gaiole there is a castle inside which you will find a famous winery with tastings available.
5 GIANT BENCH
Behind the castle is a giant bench, a beautiful location for souvenir photos with the castle and vineyards in the background.
6 BROLIO CASTLE
This is the beautiful castle of Baron Bettino Ricasoli, the legendary “Iron Baron” who invented the grape blend that forms the basis of Chianti Classico. Here, too, you can taste wines from the renowned winery.
7 SAN GUSME'
Very small village known for the curious statue of LUCA CAVA and it seems that a photo with the statue brings good luck :-) In the small centre, to the right of the door, a small tavern has typical Chianti dishes.
8 CASTELNUOVO BERARDENGA
This is the last town on the Chianti Classico circuit. Once you arrive here, you will have visited the five most famous towns in this splendid wine-producing area and seen some of the most beautiful views. From here, you can set your navigator again to LUCIGNANO and Casale di Lucullo.
